Accordingly, the success of the organization is largely dependent on how much attention is spent on daily work, what they think about, who they are working with mostly, what they are discussing on daily meetings.
What can we do to make the management of daily effort, time and attention to be focused on the issues that are most essential to the organization’s success?
The first and the most important, though not enough precondition for the right direction of management attention is the existence of clear goals. If the objectives are not clear, we do not know where we want to go, what we want to achieve, we cannot define what we want to become, which issues are recommended to pay attention in everyday work.
Accordingly, the management team, which wants to increase business efficiency, first of all should try to set goals, spend time and effort, pay special attention to the clear and appropriate goals and alter them from time to time in accordance with changes in their achievement and topicality.
But, on the other hand, the clarity of objectives is not enough in order to spend management everyday efforts to correct the issues. For this purpose, it must be determined which issues need more efforts to be spent in view of achieving the objectives. It is necessary to select priorities among all those topics that revolve around the management, and these priorities will be changed according to the environment and solved problems.
Finally, the third and the most important condition for the proper distribution of daily management in the organization is a well-made organizational structure. Knowledge of priorities alone is not enough to spend enough time on priorities. We need to know priorities, first of all, in order to organize the everyday personnel and the whole work of the organization. For this purpose, it is necessary to have organizational structure appropriate to the priorities.
The more higher level managers are responsible for this or that issue and the less importance has other issues for this manager in comparison with the importance of this issue, the more attention is paid by the management to this issue in real, everyday life, and also, if a lower-level manager is assigned responsibility for a particular issue, or more similar issues, the less attention is paid to the mentioned issues by the management.
Given the above, if we have the will to address management’s attention towards the right issues, which ensure the success, the implementation of the following three conditions is required: the goals must be clear always, where we go and what we want to achieve, we always must understand the priorities that can best support in achieving the objectives and the most important thing is that we must have organizational structure appropriate to these priorities, so that we can provide them with adequate attention in the reality of everyday life. The implementation of those three conditions promises the maximum capability for our management attention distribution and achievement of our goals.
